Privacy Policy
Luxel is built as a local-first Mac app. We do not track you, run analytics, sell data, or send your recordings, screenshots, audio, transcripts, or exports to Luxel.

Luxel records and edits the content you choose: screen video, system audio, microphone audio, camera preview overlays, replay buffer clips, transcripts, exports, settings, presets, history, and related caches. This processing happens on your Mac. Luxel does not upload this content to us.
Transcription uses local speech recognition and, when enabled, local turn grouping provided by macOS. If the required local capability is unavailable, Luxel does not fall back to cloud transcription.
macOS may ask you to grant Screen & System Audio Recording, Microphone, Camera, Speech Recognition, file, folder, or automation permissions. Luxel uses those permissions only to perform the feature you request. We do not use permissions to build profiles, track behavior, or collect analytics.
The Luxel Mac app does not transmit personal data to Luxel or third-party partners in a way that lets us access it. That is why Luxel's intended App Store privacy posture is Data Not Collected.
If you contact us for support, we will receive the information you choose to send, such as your email address, message, and any files or screenshots you attach. We use that information only to respond to your request, troubleshoot the issue, and keep records needed for support, security, or legal compliance.
The website support form stores your email address and message in our private support workflow so we can track and respond to the request. Only people helping operate Luxel support may see those submissions.
Luxel does not sell personal information. Luxel does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Luxel does not track you across apps, websites, or services owned by other companies.
The Luxel marketing website is a static website. We do not intentionally place analytics scripts, advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or fingerprinting code on it. Our hosting provider, Vercel, may process standard request metadata such as IP address, browser user agent, requested URL, timestamp, and security events to deliver, secure, and operate the site.
The support form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to reduce automated spam. Cloudflare may process technical request data necessary to verify that the submission is legitimate.
If you open the Mac App Store listing, Apple processes the App Store page, download, purchase, update, refund, and account activity under Apple's own terms and privacy policy. Luxel does not receive your recordings, transcripts, exports, or app content through Apple.
Mac App Store builds receive updates through Apple. If Luxel is distributed separately outside the Mac App Store, update checks may contact an update server only when update checks are enabled. Update checks are not analytics and are not used for advertising or tracking.
Recordings, exports, transcript caches, replay buffer files, and settings remain on your Mac until you delete them, clear app data, or remove the app. You can delete exported files wherever you saved them. Support messages are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for support, security, business records, or legal obligations.
Luxel is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can delete it.
We may update this policy if Luxel's privacy practices change, if the app's features change, or if legal requirements change. The effective date above shows when this policy was last updated.
